COVID 19 Virus Update-1/21/21

January 21, 2021

Dear Residents and Family Members:

Many of you may be aware of the new surge of COVID cases in the nation and in our state.

We need to update you that a couple of residents residents that were showing signs and symptoms of the COVID virus and were transported off-site for assessment and treatment. We have just learned that three residents have tested positive for the virus.

Two resident continues to be treated off-site. The other has been returned to the Community but, they will be isolated and all heightened infection control protocols outlined by the local health department and the CDC will be followed.

Given these new cases and the renewing surge in our state, we continue to encourage all residents (and ask families to encourage residents) to:

  • Wear masks when outside of your residence;
  • Engage in more frequent hand washing/sanitation;
  • Practice Social Distancing when outside of your residence; and
  • Limit travels outside of your residence to essential activities.

In an effort to mitigate or prevent the spread of the virus further in our Community, we have also decided to:

  • Keep the dining room closed as well;
  • Stop all group activities; and
  • Stop visitations.

All window, virtual, compassionate/end-of-life and essential healthcare provider visits will continue unless we are required to do otherwise by the local health department, state or CDC.

We will keep monitoring and assessing all residents for signs and symptoms of the virus, and we will follow the guidance about further testing provided to us by the local health department based on these two new positive cases. If you or your loved one wish to be tested, please let us know, and we will assist in arranging this.

As always, please reach out with questions, concerns, or requests for assistance. We will continue to keep you updated if any changes occur or as additional information becomes available.

Thank you for your continued support during this challenging time in our state and our country.
